Q: Does BBQAMP Have a Code of Conduct?
A: Why yes, yes we do. And we take it very seriously. You are coming to BBQAMP to enjoy the company of others, share your passion, learn some new techniques, sample great food and drink, and most importantly, relax. We recognize that BBQAMP events are fun and social, but we do expect certain standards of behavior. In that spirit, we have a Code of Conduct we expect our attendees to adhere to:
BBQAMP is dedicated to providing an open, friendly, and comfortable experience for everyone, regardless of gender, age, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, body size, race, or religion. Any form of harassment is not, and never will be, tolerated. Anyone violating these rules may be sanctioned or expelled (without a refund) at the discretion of BBQAMP.
So what constitutes harassment?
Harassment includes offensive verbal comments related to gender, age, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, body size, race, religion, sexual images in public spaces, deliberate intimidation, stalking, following, harassing photography or recording, sustained disruption of any part of the event, inappropriate physical contact, and unwelcome sexual attention. Attendees asked to stop any harassing behavior are expected to comply immediately.
We expect members and participants to follow these rules at both online and in-person at Bureau events.
Alcohol is available at BBQAMP events, and is sometimes part of the experience. Our expectation is that attendees will moderate their alcohol consumption. Wherever alcohol is offered, non-alcoholic options will be readily available. BBQAMP attendees who choose to consume alcoholic beverages are expected to do so responsibly and in consideration of the consequences to themselves and others. Every individual is expected to recognize the potential for alcohol abuse whenever alcohol is consumed. Any attendee who infringes upon the rights of others, who conduct themselves in a disorderly manner, or who damages or destroys property shall be regarded as irresponsible in their decisions, accountable for their actions, and may be sanctioned, expelled, and/or subject to criminal action.
